The HPWREN cameras take still photos from various locations in San Diego. These are an excellent resource for locating large fires or checking the surf. The Laguna, Lyons Peak, and Mount Woodson give the best coverage of our area.

CHP Traffic Incident Information Page

The CHP web site offers real time incident information for all state highways. This will include fire information if the fire involves a state highway which is usually the case for brush fires in our area.

NOAA weather provides current information for Julian and other mountain communities. Up to date forecasts including wind speeds and direction make this an excellent resource for prediction of fire activity.

GeoMAC Wildfire information

Wildfire mapping and satellite detection of fires in the United States. This usually has a 24 hour delay for information but provides excellent mapping and hot spot information for large fires.
